The customer came to us with significant quality issues they were having on an FDA Class I medical device manufactured overseas. They were getting flash on the part, secondary components were falling off and the diameter and profile of the ball on the rod were inconsistent.
Our Solution
Control of Re-shoring
We designed and built a superior mold that provided significantly improved tolerances. To date that same mold has run over one million shots and it’s still running.
With our wire supplier we designed and developed a cold forged one-piece bent wire rod creating consistent part quality off a robust process that could go straight to ready for market packaging.
